Privacy Policy

This privacy policy is intended to help visitors understand how we handle “personally identifiable information” (PII) online. PII, as used in U.S. privacy and information security law, is information that can be used on its own or with other data to identify, contact, or locate a single person, or to identify an individual in a given context. Please read this policy carefully to see how we collect, use, protect, or process your PII in connection with this website.

How do we use your information?

We may use the information we collect when you register, make a purchase, sign up for our newsletter, respond to a survey or marketing message, surf the site, or use other site features in the following ways:

  • To personalize your experience and deliver content and product offers that match your interests.

How and for how long are your data stored?

Personal data collected by DSPLAY will be used and kept for as long as necessary to provide the service and to meet the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, taking into account the rights of data subjects and controllers.

In general, your data will be retained for as long as the contractual relationship between you and DSPLAY exists. When the retention period ends, the data will be deleted from our databases or anonymized, subject to the exceptions set forth in Article 16 of the General Data Protection Law, namely:

  1. compliance with a legal or regulatory obligation by the controller;
  2. studies by a research body, with anonymization of personal data where possible;
  3. transfer to a third party, provided the data processing requirements of the law are met; or
  4. exclusive use by the controller, with no access by third parties, provided the data is anonymized.

Personal information that is necessary to meet legal, judicial, or administrative requirements and/or to exercise the right of defense in judicial or administrative proceedings may be kept even if other data are deleted.

Users have the right to request deletion of their personal data at any time. You may contact us through the “Contact” section of our site or by emailing contact@dsplay.tv. We will process such requests in line with applicable data protection laws.

We employ technical and organizational measures designed to help ensure confidentiality, integrity, and inviolability of your data, along with access controls and risk-appropriate security measures for stored information.

How we protect your data

Requesting ratings and reviews of services or products

We do not use vulnerability scanning and/or PCI compliance scanning. We may collect credit card information; we use standard malware scanning.

Your personal information is held behind secured networks and is only accessible to a limited number of people with special access rights, who are required to keep the information confidential. Confidential/credit information you supply is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. We apply a range of security measures when a user enters, submits, or accesses their information. All transactions are processed through a payment gateway provider and are not stored or processed on our servers.

Do we use 'cookies'?

Yes. Cookies are small files that a site or service provider may transfer to your device through your browser (if you allow) so the site or provider can recognize your browser and remember certain information. For example, we may use cookies to help remember items in your shopping cart, understand your preferences from past or current site activity, and help compile aggregate data about site traffic and interactions so we can offer better experiences and tools in the future.

We use cookies to:

  • Understand and save your preferences for future visits.

You can set your browser to warn you when a cookie is being sent, or to disable all cookies, through your browser settings. Browsers differ—see your browser’s Help material for how to change cookie settings.

If you disable cookies in your browser:

If you turn off cookies, some features that make the site more efficient may not work properly.

Third-party disclosure: We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your PII to third parties. Third-party products: we do not include or offer third-party products or services on this website. Google: Google’s advertising requirements can be summarized in Google’s Advertising Principles, intended to provide a positive experience. https://support.google.com/adwordspolicy/answer/1316548?hl=en We have not turned on Google AdSense on the site, but we may do so in the future.

CalOPPA (California Online Privacy Protection Act) is the first U.S. state law to require commercial websites and online services to post a privacy policy. How does our site handle Do Not Track signals?

We honor Do Not Track signals: when a DNT setting is in place, we do not track, plant cookies, or use advertising in connection with that mechanism.

Does our site allow third-party behavioral tracking?

We do not allow third-party behavioral tracking. COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act) puts parents in control of personal information collected from children under 13. The U.S. Federal Trade Commission enforces COPPA, which describes what site and online service operators must do to protect children’s privacy and safety online. We do not specifically market to children under 13. Fair information practices: Fair Information Practice Principles are central to U.S. privacy law and have influenced data protection laws worldwide. Understanding and implementing them helps comply with various privacy requirements.

In line with Fair Information Practices, in the event of a data breach we will:

  • Notify you by email (within 7 business days)
  • Notify users via in-site notice (within 7 business days)

We also support the individual redress principle, which requires that individuals have the right to pursue enforceable rights against data collectors and processors that fail to comply, including recourse to courts or government agencies. CAN-SPAM: The Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing (CAN-SPAM) Act sets rules for commercial email, including requirements for commercial messages, an opt-out right, and serious penalties for violations.

We collect your email address in order to:

Send information, respond to inquiries, and process requests

Process orders and send order-related information and updates, send additional information related to your product or service, and market to our mailing list or send follow-up email after a transaction, where appropriate.

In accordance with CAN-SPAM, we agree to the following:

  • We will not use false or misleading subjects or email addresses
  • We will identify the message as an ad in a reasonable way
  • We will include our business or site’s physical address
  • We will monitor third-party email marketing services for compliance, if used
  • We will honor opt-out/unsubscribe requests quickly
  • We will let users unsubscribe via a link at the bottom of each email

If you wish to unsubscribe at any time, follow the instructions at the bottom of each email and we will promptly remove you from all correspondence. You may also email us as described in those instructions.
